BgMetrics - Archives

When the dataset gets large, BgMetrics can take a while to load. To help keep the program from becoming too bulky, it is possible to archive some of the data and remove the archived info from the main dataset and everyday usage.

BgMetrics archives data in datasets that span a month at a time. When selecting "Archive" from the menu, the user is presented with a window that asks for a Year and Month to archive. If the current data has records in the Year and Month selected, BgMetrics will find the data, write it to a file in your "\Backup" directory and offer to remove the listings that have been saved elsewhere.

The naming convention for archived data is numeric. The first four digits signify the year and the next two digits signify the month. Example: Feb of 2000 would be saved as "..\Backup\200002.bgd" March of 2000 would be "..\Backup\200003.bgd" etc. Data may be imported back into the database when desired.
