BgMetrics - New record
Data entry is done through the Data entry dialog, It is accessed through the "Edit" --> "New record" menu choice or the Ctrl+n hotkey combination. When the dialog opens the current time and date is inserted in the time and date fields. If you wish to enter a new record for another time or date you may edit either field.
An explanation of the fields:
- Date - Be sure the date is in the same format as shown. "Day Month Year" with the day being an integer, the Month being the first 3 letters of the month name and the year in 4 digits.
- Time - Be sure the time is in the same format as shown. "Hour:Minute AmPm" with the Hour being an integer less than 24, the Minute being an integer less than 60 and AmPm being "AM" or "PM". A colon separates the Hour and the Minute.
- Sticky - Normally the window closes automatically when the data is "Added" to the database. Use this to keep the window open when adding more than one record at a time.
- Select Event - Choose the time of day or event this Bg reading will be set for.
- BgLevel - Enter the Bg reading here. Be sure to select the correct "Select Time" button before entering this data.
- Calories - If you are tracking calories, enter them in the box provided for this meal.
- Protein - If you are tracking protein, enter it in the box provided for this meal.
- Carbs - If you are tracking carb units, enter them in the box provided for this meal.
- Fat - If you are tracking fat, enter it in the box provided for this meal.
- Weight - Enter your current weight here if you are tracking it.
- Meal entries - Enter what you had for this meal or event in the entry field provided.
- Add to data - Press this when you are satisfied with your entries and want to add the info to the database. If the "Sticky" button is selected the window will remain open to add another record, otherwise the "Data entry" window will close.
- Open FoodList - Opens the FoodList window for reference or adding meal data to the new record.
- Add as Full Meal to FoodList - After entering your meal information (Meal, Calories, Protein, Carbs and Fat) you may save it to the FoodList database for later recall.
- Cancel - Closes the window without saving any of the current information.
When using the FoodList window, double clicking any entry in the "Full Meal" tree will add that meal information to the Add record window replacing any present entries. This should be handy when entering meal data that is quite common to the user.
If you are adding information from the past into BgMetrics you can do several records in succession by selecting the "Sticky" button. Set the fields as desired and "commit" each set of data as you go by pressing the "Add to data" button.
