WarpZip - Other archivers

WarpZip also supports opening, extracting and viewing files contained in other archiver formats including:

WarpZip is set up to open these formats with the following archivers:

RAR

Eugene Roshal's Unrar.exe. WarpZip supports unarchiving from RAR archives but does not support building new archives in this format at this time. Unrar.exe is the only file needed from this archive to make it work with WarpZip. Just extract the archive and place "Unrar.exe" in the WarpZip directory. Unrar.exe is freeware according to the note in the executable but please be sure of this before making extended use of it. This archiver distribution is available at the Pillarsoft website.

ARJ

ARJ Software, Russia's Arj.exe. WarpZip supports unarchiving from ARJ archives but does not support building new archives in this format at this time. Arj.exe is the only file needed from this archive to make it work with WarpZip. Just extract the archive and place "Arj.exe" in the WarpZip directory. ARJ is shareware and needs to be registered to use it legally. This archiver distribution is available at the Pillarsoft website.

LHA

Haruyasu Yoshizaki's Lha.exe. WarpZip supports unarchiving from LZH archives but does not support building new archives in this format at this time. Lha.exe is the only file needed from this archive to make it work with WarpZip. Just extract the archive and place "Lha.exe" in the WarpZip directory. LHA is freeware as far as we have been able to ascertain but please check for yourself to be sure that is the case. This archiver distribution is available at the Pillarsoft website.

TGZ

Tillmann Steinbrecher's Untgzos2.exe. WarpZip supports unarchiving from TGZ archives but does not support building new archives in this format at this time. Untgzos2.exe is the only file needed from this archive to make it work with WarpZip. Just extract the archive and place "Untgzos2.exe" in the WarpZip directory. UNTGZOS2 is freeware as far as we have been able to ascertain but please check for yourself to be sure that is the case. This archiver distribution is available at the Pillarsoft website.

WPI

WarpIn from Netlabs, uses a new archiving format. WarpZip supports unarchiving from WPI archives via "Wic.exe" but does not support building new archives in this format. Please use the proper WarpIn tools to build archives in WPI format. WarpIn must be properly installed for WarpZip to find and use the WIC archiving utility to operate on WPI archives.

WPI archives may have multiple packages in each archive. By default, WarpZip opens the first package of an archive when opening it for the first time. On each successive attempt to open an individual archive, a dialog will pop up to allow the user to select which package to open.

Viewing and extracting individual files is not supported at this time. Provisions have been made to do so when "wic.exe" supports it.

At this point in time we do not know the definitive status of all of these archivers in terms of shareware/freeware. We were more concerned with making them work and hoping to be done in time for WarpTech. Please support the authors of this software by registering or dropping them a note of thanks.
